ICEBREAKER - Interview with Daniel Norell

D a n i e l x N o r e l l

x
The first thing you notice about Daniel is his physique. Standing just shy of six feet tall, this man is 185lbs of pure, exceptionally well toned muscles. It is a body he worked hard to build, having once been what he describes as “very skinny”, and one that he probably works just as hard to maintain. This requires discipline, and after discovering his other, no longer hidden talents, it is more than evident that Daniel is no stranger to discipline.
x
He is, however, a stranger to limitations, and it would be a safe guess to say that he places few, if any upon himself. His skill as a model is on display in his own port, as well as the portfolios of an impressive list of some of the best photographers, including Carlos Arias, Kurt R. Brown, Thomas Synnamon and Dallas Logan.
x

Daniel’s heritage is not as easy to categorize, and looking at his photos suggests a mix of ethnicities, which only enhances his appeal to a broader spectrum. No matter what your preference when it comes to looks, he has something to offer. And he knows how to show it off to his best advantage.
x
While many models seem content to stike a pose in front of the camera, Daniel has chosen the path of many actors, stepping behind the camera to create his own visions. But he doesn’t stop there. His budding talents as a photographer may eventually lead to directing, and his first project could just as easily reflect back on himself. He has a dance song, Icebreaker, that can be heard on You Tube, and what better way to create more heat around the music than by directing a video that showcases the visual. His undeniable sex appeal is market ready, and the combination of seeing while hearing would be like a party hosted by the senses.

. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .
How did you get your start in modeling and what initially attracted you to it?
x
I started out pretty young, around 17. It was mostly commercial since I was young and pretty skinny at the time lol.
x
You have worked with some amazing photographers. Do you have a favorite that you've worked with? If so, why?
x
It's hard to nail it down. I worked with so much great talent over the past few years. But obviously Kurt R. Brown and I did a lot of amazing photography when I lived in Los Angeles.
x

Who are some other photographers that you've worked with that you admire and why?
x
Pat Lee is still incredible. His photography is beyond this world. The visual style and attention to details is what first caught my eye.
x
Are there any particular photographers that you would like to work with in the future?
x
I'm always looking for new photographers too work with. But it has to be right and feel right. I prepare myself a great deal before shooting with someone so I always take my time on my next projects.
x
Is there any particular image or idea that you have wanted to create, but have yet to do?
x
I love details and special effects! So I would love to create an image involving silver liquid used in Terminator 2. I also have a few ideas for an Asian inspired setting.
x
You have branched out into photography now. Is this something you were always interested in or did it develope from being a model?
x
Both! I love images, I love photography. Working with so many people around the globe brings inspiration and influences to me everyday. So I wanted to create my own personal twist.
x
What type of images do you shoot?
x
Right now I’m experimenting a lot with other models to find the right directions. I'm shooting this beautiful lady tomorrow. So we'll see how that turns out
x
Do you prefer being in front of or behind the camera, or is there no difference for you?
x
I prefer in front of the camera. I'm a performer at heart. But being on the other side makes me recreational and brings new ideas to the table. You have to think outside of the box as a photographer, which I like.
x
What is your view on artistic erotica?
x
It lies in the eye of the viewer what’s considered artistic erotica. Some might think Underwear Modeling is Erotica.
x
Would you pose for a full frontal nude photo?
x
No. I don't see why I would do that. It's never been too much of my interest.
x
Are you open to posing for artistic erotica?
x
Yes if it's done in a way I would feel is an artistic view and it's a photographer that I feel is of top notch standards then absolutely.
x

What advice would you give a new model who is thinking about posing nude, be it artistic or pornographic?
x
Run!! LOL. No I think there is a lot to take into consideration before doing nude photography. The best advice I would give is to have contact with a good agent or a manager that you really trust. Be careful. Cause you never know where your images might pop up.
x
You are also a singer and have a song called Icebreaker. How long have you been working on music?
x

ICEBREAKER

I been singing since 2006. But didn't start working seriously with it until last year. Music and performance is my passion. And I will always work hard on getting to the next level with my music.
x
Do you just sing or are you involved in writing and production?
x
I get as involved as possible within my music and production. I work with a lot of talented producers overseas, so then everything gets done over the phone or emails.
x
What is your musical style?
x
Pop/Urban Electro
x
Who inspires you in the music world?
x
As far as Producers Timbaland, Danjahandz, Polow Da Don, Ryan Leslie Artists Michael Jackson, Kanye West, Drake, Lil' Wayne, Justin Timberlake, Lady GAGA
x
Icebreaker is a demo. What other songs have you done?
xIcebreaker is actually my 1st original material. You can view it as my introduction to the music industry. When I heard the beat the 1st time I knew I had to get on it.
x
What should we expect next from you musically?
x
Right now I’m collaborating with one of my favorite producers at the moment Vin Rawli who also produced Icebreaker. We are cooking up some retarded tracks for the future. I'm also gearing up to perform Icebreaker at a few events. So i'm really exited about that.
x
You are a triple threat: model, photographer, musician. Are you also interested in acting?
x
Ha ha yeah I’m dangerous! There have been a few offers. And I’m looking at my options so I will not rule out the possibility.
x
What is your ultimate goal both in entertainment industry?
x
That is to get signed to a Record Label. And eventually release a Mixtape and an Album.
x Any last words?
x
Shout out to my friends and family! My Manager Mark Rupp, My Music Production Vin Rawli Muzik and all the supporting fans!!
